Timetable changes!

There are a couple of changes to the timetable for this half term.  Remember that guitars are now on Monday afternoons and PE will be on Wednesdays and Fridays.

INSET - 30 Sep 11

Just a reminder that there is no school on Friday as its a teacher training day.

Wroxeter Trip is booked and an added christmas bonus!

The trip to Wroxeter Roman city is now booked for the 19th October 2011.  Also, I have arranged for all of the children in Key Stage 2 to see the pantomime 'Dick Whittington' at the Stafford Gatehouse on the morning of 20th December 2011.  More details and costings will follow next month.

Yippee, we're back at school!

Only 1 week to go!

I am beginning to put together ideas for next term and am planning a visit to Wroxeter Roman City early to mid  September.  This will support our learning about the Romans which forms one element of our overall Super Mario Brothers topic.  PE will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays and it is hoped that guitars will carry on on Thursday afternoons.  I have place a link for Wroxeter in the useful links part of the blog for you to look at.

A fantastic read!

We will begin next term by writing a quest in literacy.  Our focus text will be The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien.  This is a text that I studied at school. Try and get a copy from the local library if you can.  If not try to find out something about the story to share when we return to school.

Summer Reading!

Remember to try and keep reading during the holidays.  I'll be asking you to complete a book review during the first week of next term about one of the books you have read. 

Non Uniform Day - Fri 22 Jul 11

Remember that you can wear your normal clothes to school on Friday.  Donations of £1 should be brought in to support our school charity - The Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.  I have attached a hyperlink to the Trust's website in the left hand column.

Open Evening 19th July 2011

Hope your reports were well recieved at home.  Don't forget to remind your parents/carers that there is an open evening next tuesday from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.  They can come in for a chat and discuss any issues that they may have about next year or your report.

Board Games Afternoon

Children in the current Y4-5 are remided that they can bring in board games and toys to play together tomorrow afternoon.  Remember - No computer games or hand held consoles!
